Job Description:

CPS Business Planning & Performance Manager

Role Purpose:

To set the overarching direction for CPS and hold Business Performance & Planning (BP&P) functions to account for delivery against this role:

  • Define CPS annual business plan to address the evolving demands of the network, our clients (National Highways and Connect Plus), and our JV Parent Companies.
  • Drive performance, hold functions to account, and assure delivery against the plan.
  • Track, analyze, and report performance.
  • Define and regularly review CPS governance.

Financial responsibilities:

  • CPS: Support the BP&P Director in reporting on financial performance associated with the Planning & Performance team.

Organizational:

CPS: Responsible for team performance and developing collaborative relationships across BP&P teams, A&NP, Asset Delivery teams, and key stakeholders.

Accountabilities:

  • Responsible for establishing the new BP&P operating team by end of Mar 2025.
  • Prepare and review CPS business plan regularly, considering current challenges, future opportunities, and evolving customer/stakeholder needs.
  • Guide business performance management, addressing issues promptly.
  • Hold business leaders accountable and monitor performance and risks against strategic objectives and contractual obligations.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders to improve performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Foster, empower, and sustain a high-performing team focused on continuous improvement and meeting contract expectations.
Qualifications/Skills/Experience:
  • A relevant professional qualification, ideally Chartered/Incorporated with a UK institution.
  • Experience in business strategy, performance management, and budgeting in critical infrastructure environments.
  • Experience working in a Joint Venture or similar (desirable).
  • Experience in operational and maintenance environments (desirable).
