Business Manager - Operations | City of London | 12 month FTC | Immediate start
Our client is a leading global bank with an office in The City of London. The Business Manager - Operations role supports the Head of Business Management to develop a sound and compliant business platform, aligned with quality standards and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Ensure all systems and processes operate smoothly and align with quality standards
- Maximize the efficiency of all business procedures
- Build new processes and map existing and/or new processes that meet business objectives and ensure compliance
- Facilitate the delivery of new product, process, platform and business development; assess post-change implementation
- Track the progress of adhoc projects and workflow design
- Assist with investigation and remediation, through analysis, testing and specification design, of identified data quality events across and within systems supporting C&I UK businesses
- Assist with the implementation of the C&I UK records management policy and the subsequent monitoring thereof
- Assist with the SLA process and the monitoring thereof
- Be committed to championing best practice and positively supporting operational efficiency, business enablement and cultural changes
- Build product knowledge through on-the-job learning, working with Front Office and Support teams to ensure fit-for-purposes processes are in place
- Demonstrate a high energy level and strong work ethic; be organised and disciplined with a highly developed ability to get things done
Stakeholder Relationship Management
- Build and maintain professional working relationships with all stakeholders; initiate dialogue, listen, advise, influence and negotiate to achieve win-win outcomes
- Initiate meetings to manage the expectations and requirements of key stakeholders
- Courageous and self-starting; upward and outward communication; preserve relationships despite conflicting views and seek mutual gains when addressing conflicts

- Act swiftly to resolve problems, queries and complaints
- Adapt communication styles to meet the needs of different audiences
Qualifications
- Undergraduate qualification (Bachelor's degree or equivalent) in a relevant discipline (Finance, Business, Economics, Maths, etc.)
- 2–5 years of business management or product operations experience
- Project oversight and coordination
- Change, Transformation and project management within an Operations Team is a strong advantage
- Experience with settlement solutions and securities exchanges
- Experience with financial instruments
