Job description

We are partnering with a global financial services group to recruit a Business Management professional into its Capital Markets COO team, supporting its FX and Payments businesses.

This is a hands‑on opportunity to work closely with the COO and senior business leaders, helping turn commercial priorities into delivered projects, stronger operating processes and measurable business results.

The role combines strategic change delivery with day‑to‑day business management, including support for an established corporate FX franchise and a new cross‑border payments business.

You will work across Sales, Trading, Operations, Technology, Legal, Compliance, Risk and Finance, bringing stakeholders together to deliver initiatives in a fast‑moving, regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the COO and senior business heads with business management and strategic development.
  • Deliver cross‑functional commercial initiatives from initial concept through implementation, with clear milestones and measurable outcomes.
  • Coordinate new business launches, product expansion, market entry and infrastructure development.
  • Track priorities, dependencies and risks, ensuring clear ownership, effective escalation and timely delivery.
  • Develop scalable operating models, management information and commercial KPI reporting.
  • Support front‑to‑back workflow assessments, process mapping and implementation readiness.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, scalability and controls.
  • Prepare senior management presentations, committee papers and governance materials.
  • Partner with control functions on regulatory requirements, audits and governance actions.
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships and constructively challenge where needed to maintain progress.
About You:

You will bring experience in Business Management, COO support, Chief of Staff, Strategy and Execution, or Programme Delivery within financial services or another complex, regulated environment.

Most importantly, you can demonstrate personal ownership of substantial commercial projects and explain what you delivered, how you aligned stakeholders and the results achieved.

We are looking for:
  • Proven delivery of complex, cross‑functional business initiatives.
  • Strong commercial awareness and the ability to translate objectives into practical delivery plans.
  • Experience working across front office, infrastructure and control functions.
  • Confidence influencing and challenging senior stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, organisational and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, including preparation of executive and governance materials.
  • An understanding of relevant financial regulation, such as MiFID II and Payment Services Regulations.
  • A flexible, collaborative approach and willingness to engage with detailed execution.

Corporate FX experience is particularly valuable. Additional exposure to the following would be advantageous:

  • Institutional eFX, including FXall or 360T.
  • Cross‑border payments and payment rails.
  • Bilateral OTC FX and principal or agency FX prime brokerage.
  • Spot, forwards, NDFs, options and structured products.
  • ISDA/CSA documentation, CLS, SWIFT and settlement infrastructure.
Experience Level:

The role would typically suit someone with around 6–9 years of relevant experience, although demonstrated capability and delivery experience are the priorities.

Exceptional candidates with around 3–5 years’ experience may also be considered, particularly those with banking, engineering or mathematics backgrounds who are ready for a significant step up.

Why Consider This Opportunity:
  • Work directly with senior Capital Markets leadership.
  • Help shape an established FX business and a developing payments proposition.
  • Gain broad exposure across FX, payments and related areas, including lending and rates.
  • Take ownership of commercially important projects with visible outcomes.
  • Join a business offering a discretionary, meritocratic bonus linked to contribution and firm performance.
