Siemens in Manchester is offering a Business IT Intern position for a 12-month industrial placement starting in August 2027. The programme provides real-world projects across technology, data and AI, with a starting salary of £25,354 per year.

Qualifications

• Currently an undergraduate pursuing a degree in IT or related discipline (IT with Business, Computing, CS or Cyber Security).

Responsibilities

• Assist in solving everyday IT problems and maintaining systems.
• Act as a friendly IT ambassador to help colleagues use technology confidently.
• Participate in projects using programming, data and AI to improve workflows.
• Run workshops and presentations to foster teamwork and new ideas.
• Support sales by improving how customer enquiries are shared using automation and AI.
• Help new starters get set up with technology and access to systems.

• Help new starters get set up with their technology, access to company systems, and everything they need to get off to a great start.
• Explore new tools and equipment that could help us work smarter.
• Research what is happening in our industry to help shape future plans.

What We're Looking For

This opportunity is open to undergraduate students looking to complete a one-year industrial placement as part of their degree.

• Currently working towards a degree in an Information Technology or related discipline such as IT with Business, Computing, Computer Science or Cyber Security.
• You think logically, are willing to self-learn, and take a creative approach to problem-solving.
• You take pride in working safely and responsibly, always doing the right thing.
• You are excited to grow, develop, and be a driving force for positive change.
• You enjoy collaborating with others to find innovative solutions.
• You're able to use AI confidently and selectively, knowing when and how it adds value.
• Experience within a customer-facing role is desired but not essential.
