Business Intelligence Engineer (In Stock), Amazon Fresh

Do you enjoy transforming data into actionable insights and taking a data-driven approach to solving complex business problems? Amazon Fresh is looking for a pro-active Business Intelligence Engineer with strong technical and analytical skills. We are currently looking for a BIE to be located in London who will work with partners in the UK In-stock Management team.

Knowledge of In-Stock Management processes preferred but not mandatory.

Key Job Responsibilities
  1. Design, implement, and support key in-stock datasets that provide structured and timely access to actionable business information addressing stakeholder needs.
  2. Dive deep into In-Stock processes such as shrink management or availability tracking, working with experienced In-Stock Managers to troubleshoot issues and build bespoke reports.
  3. Design, develop and maintain scaled, automated, user-friendly systems, reports, dashboards, etc. that will support our business needs.
  4. Participate in developing BIE roadmaps. Interface directly with customers and stakeholders, gathering requirements and supporting end-to-end reporting solutions.
  5. Participate in developing department KPI’s and operational metrics to drive improvements in automation and robotics projects.
  6. Develop complex queries for ad-hoc requests and projects, as well as ongoing reporting.
  7. Deep dive into large data sets to answer key business questions using SQL, Excel, and other data manipulation languages.
  8. Maintain data integrity, perform QA Audits and diligently troubleshoot issues.
  9. Continually improve ongoing reporting and analysis processes, while automating or simplifying self-service support and access to authoritative data sets.
  10. Generate daily, weekly, and monthly data reports for both internal and external business reviews.
  11. Respond with urgency to high priority requests from senior business leaders.
About the Team

Within International Amazon Fresh, AIS (Analytics, Insights and Science) strives to empower decision-making with actionable insights across banners. The team intentionally balances delivering value quickly (Minimum Lovable Products/P0), while driving for self-service. We partner with WW analytics teams to scale our work and de-duplicate efforts by working away. The team prioritises big rocks every 6 months whilst retaining a year-round SIM intake for emerging initiatives along with providing on-call and office hours for our stakeholders.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Experience in analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc.
  2. Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools.
  3. Experience with one or more industry analytics visualization tools (e.g. Excel, Tableau, QuickSight, MicroStrategy, PowerBI) and statistical methods (e.g. t-test, Chi-squared).
  4. Experience with SQL.
  5. Experience in the data/BI space.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Master's degree, or Advanced technical degree.
  2. Knowledge of data modeling and data pipeline design.
  3. Experience with statistical analysis, co-relation analysis.
