Description

Amazon Fresh Private Brands team (AFPB) is creating a portfolio of private brands in the grocery space across a wide range of categories and quality tiers. Our mission is to create the private brands customers can't live without and enable Amazon to be customers' grocery retailer of choice.

To deliver on this mission, we are looking for a Senior Vendor Manager who will play a critical role in sourcing vendors, building relationships with them, and establishing Amazon as a credible partner in the space of Grocery private brands. You will be at the forefront of vendor negotiations, business management, and strategic planning for your categories/vendors.

The ideal candidate has a proven track record of successful negotiations, building strong relationships, and critical thinking. You must be able to influence across multiple organizations, have a strong financial understanding, and a history of delivering results. You will establish, drive, and strengthen relationships with key private brands suppliers. You will be customer-focused, entrepreneurial, a proven self-starter, and have the demonstrated ability to invent.

Key job responsibilities
  1. Be an expert relationship manager and communicator, working closely with suppliers up to C-level to ensure Amazon customers can always find their products in store or line, at competitive prices and high quality.
  2. Act as the ‘business owner’ for your categories, managing a full P&L, including planning, forecasting, and driving growth to meet revenue and profitability goals.
  3. Set goals and strategic direction for your vendors and initiatives, ensuring alignment with broader business goals.
  4. Generate and implement big ideas to drive business improvement, innovation, and scale within your categories.
  5. Drive negotiations and represent Amazon when meeting with senior leaders.
  6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams supporting business needs, including product development, food-safety, sustainability, marketing, and in-stock.
  7. Own and drive projects, areas of expertise, and business metrics at UK or European level, working closely with leaders across the Grocery business.
Basic Qualifications
  1. Bachelor's degree, or experience in a professional field or military.
  2. Knowledge of Microsoft Access or SQL.
  3. Experience with Excel.
  4. Experience in account management, project/program management, or buying.
  5. Experience using data to influence business decisions.
  6. Experience driving internal cross-team collaboration.
  7. Experience with business analysis and P&L management.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. Knowledge of Microsoft Access or SQL.
  2. Prior experience in Grocery, FMCG industries, or delivering go-to-market launches for consumer products.
  3. Ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-moving environment.
  4. Demonstrated ability to coordinate with stakeholders on sophisticated projects.
  5. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, including written.
