Job summary

Data Careers is seeking an experienced Power BI Developer / Business Intelligence Developer to join a policing organisation on a hybrid basis with Lincolnshire travel. The role focuses on developing and improving the Power BI estate, including dashboards, reports and paginated reports.

Key tasks include building semantic models, star schemas, DAX and row-level security, plus dataflows, shared datasets and integration with SQL Server/Oracle.

Qualifications

• Experience building Power BI dashboards, reports and paginated reports.
• Strong understanding of data models including semantic models and star schemas.
• Experience with DAX, row-level security and data governance concepts.

Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance the organisation's Power BI estate.
• Create dashboards, reports and paginated reports for stakeholders.
• Build semantic models, star schemas and secure data views (RLS).
• Design dataflows and shared datasets; manage deployment through Azure DevOps.
• Work with SQL Server/Oracle data sources; document technical specs.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric and wider Microsoft data tech is advantageous.

Data Careers is supporting a UK policing organisation with the appointment of an experienced Power BI Developer / Business Intelligence Developer.

The role will focus on developing and improving the organisation's Power BI estate, including:

Power BI dashboards, reports and paginated reports

Semantic models, star schemas, DAX and row-level security

Dataflows and shared datasets

SQL Server / Oracle

Azure DevOps and deployment processes

Stakeholder requirements and technical documentation

Experience of Microsoft Fabric, data warehousing or wider Microsoft data technologies would be advantageous.

This is an initial 6-month contract, inside IR35, with hybrid working and some travel to Lincolnshire.
