Job summary

Data Careers is recruiting a Power BI Developer / Business Intelligence Developer to join a policing organisation in the UK. The role focuses on developing and improving the Power BI estate, including dashboards, reports and paginated reports, with emphasis on semantic models, DAX and data security.

You will handle dataflows, shared datasets, and work across SQL Server and Oracle. Knowledge of Microsoft Fabric and data warehousing is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Experience building Power BI dashboards and reports.
• Experience with semantic models, star schemas, DAX and row-level security.
• Ability to translate stakeholder requirements into BI solutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop and improve the organisation's Power BI estate: dashboards, reports and paginated reports.
• Build and maintain semantic models, star schemas and DAX calculations; implement row-level security.
• Create dataflows and shared datasets; manage data pipelines and deployment processes.
• Work with SQL Server and Oracle databases; ensure data quality and performance.
• Collaborate with stakeholders; generate technical documentation and specifications.
• Support Azure DevOps deployment processes and release management.

Data Careers is supporting a UK policing organisation with the appointment of an experienced Power BI Developer / Business Intelligence Developer.

The role will focus on developing and improving the organisation's Power BI estate, including:

• Power BI dashboards, reports and paginated reports
• Semantic models, star schemas, DAX and row-level security
• Dataflows and shared datasets
• SQL Server / Oracle
• Azure DevOps and deployment processes
• Stakeholder requirements and technical documentation

Experience of Microsoft Fabric, data warehousing or wider Microsoft data technologies would be advantageous.

This is an initial 6-month contract, inside IR35, with hybrid working and some travel to Lincolnshire.
