Job Description

This Large Government Body is looking for a Business Intelligence Developer to play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing their Business Intelligence solutions and automated tools. You will work with Customer Service, Finance, HR, and divisions to generate valuable management information. Collaborating with a diverse team of technical and data specialists, you will improve reporting capabilities and ensure thorough documentation of any changes to reporting solutions. Your role will be vital in developing and delivering accurate, reliable, and effective management information to support the organisation's needs. The role is hybrid, with 20% of the working month based in the office in Leeds, Birmingham, or Cardiff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify opportunities for improving data sourcing and storage in the data warehouse.
• Work closely with Performance Analysts, Lead BI Developer, CRM, and SharePoint specialists to capture reporting requirements.
• Design and support routines for reliable, accurate Management Information from systems like case management, telephony, finance, and HR.
• Assess requirements, design solutions, document models, and deliver ETL solutions using SSIS and Azure Data Factory.
• Develop and modify existing ETL models to support business process changes.
• Maintain and develop the data warehouse in line with evolving MI needs.
• Enhance query and reporting capabilities for business users.
• Support data quality across the organisation by working with users to rectify data errors.

Essential Skills / Experience:

• Effective communication skills across all organisational levels.
• Understanding of Data Warehouse best practices.
• Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and decision-making skills.
• Proficiency in ETL, SQL, SSIS, data mapping, and modelling.
• 3-5 years of SQL experience.
• Knowledge of Kimball methodology and Star Schema modelling.
• Experience with SSIS, SSMS, and APIs for data extraction.
• Advanced Power BI report and dashboard development skills.

Desirable Skills / Experience:

• Management of Azure PaaS and IaaS.
• Experience with Azure Data Factory, SSRS, PowerApps, and Power Automate.
