Job Title: Senior BI Developer

Location: West Midlands

Work Arrangement: hybrid – 1 day week in office

About the Company:

A UK-based insurance and finance company is looking to hire a Senior BI Developer to join their team.

Role Overview:

You will play a key role in redesigning and improving data flow within the company, working closely with a dedicated data team. While not directly managing others, you will lead task delegation and workflow guidance. You will also collaborate with stakeholders across product, solution design, and IT to enhance data systems and reporting capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Data mapping and integration from various sources into new systems.
• Rebuilding legacy reports and redesigning data structures for improved insights.
• Developing and optimizing SQL queries for data extraction.
• Building and maintaining ETL pipelines using SSIS or Azure Data Factory.
• Creating reports and dashboards with Power BI.
• Communicating effectively with stakeholders to interpret data insights.
• Participating in Agile development cycles.

Skills and Experience:

• Strong SQL skills for data querying and manipulation.
• Experience with SSIS or Azure Data Factory for ETL processes.
• Proven ability to create Power BI reports with compelling visual storytelling (Tableau experience is acceptable).
• Experience working with multiple data sources and systems integration.
• Excellent communication skills for stakeholder engagement.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
• Background in BI Engineering or BI Development.

Assessment Process:

• Online Assessment: 1-hour test on quantitative and inductive reasoning.
