About the opportunity

At Contentful, we are always searching for top candidates to join our global team of Business Development Reps. We are particularly interested in individuals who would like to pursue a career in sales and can work with our DACH customer base on a fluent German level.

This position is one of the first touchpoints that our German-speaking customers (DACH region - Germany, Austria & Switzerland) and potential prospects will have with the Contentful brand. It requires an organized and motivated individual to understand how Contentful can help organizations drive digital transformation and create best-in-class customer experiences. As a Business Development Representative for the DACH region, you will gain experience interacting with customers across various industries and work closely with Regional Sales Executives to hunt new business. If you're interested in transitioning into tech sales or starting your career in sales, this role offers essential skills development through our training program.

Please note: this is an onsite role.

What to expect?
  • Focus on lead generation within the DACH Market (Germany, Austria & Switzerland)
  • Gain in-depth knowledge of customers, industry, and Contentful’s solutions
  • Engage proactively with new prospects via research, calling, emailing, and social outreach
  • Collaborate with Account Executives to hand off qualified prospects
  • Achieve pipeline targets monthly, quarterly, and annually
  • Build relationships with key decision-makers across industries
What do you need to be successful?
  • 1-2 years of work experience preferred; previous SDR/BDR experience advantageous
  • Interest in sales, lead generation, or customer-facing roles
  • Fluency in English and German (mandatory)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to understand customer needs and challenges
  • Proactive qualification of customer needs
  • Ability to articulate business opportunities and understand use cases
  • Build rapport with prospects and stakeholders
  • Self-starter attitude
  • Follow processes diligently and suggest improvements
  • Detail-oriented and data-driven
  • Experience with Salesforce or similar software
  • Interest in technology and Contentful’s solutions

  • Willingness to travel (up to 10%)
