The Opportunity:

Worldline Merchant Services provides a complete set of payment solutions to Public Transport Authorities, private mobility providers as well as system integrators. We have for customer most National Railways like SNCF, SNCB or Deutsch Bahn; Europe's largest cities (Paris, London, Madrid, Brussels, Milan, etc.) and provide the full range of services from payment terminals, payment gateways to acquiring.

As a Business Development Manager, Transportation and Mobility , based in the UK , you will be a key driver of Worldline's growth in the transportation & mobility sector. Your role will focus on creating and executing a go-to-market strategy with the objective to sign up new enterprise clients, including leading transport & mobility operators, system integrators and relevant partners , and expanding our footprint across Europe. A strong focus will be put on the UK market where we have strong ambitions and where Worldline heavily invested but your role will go beyond UK with many opportunities throughout Europe.

You will leverage your expertise in payments to develop strategic partnerships, generate revenue opportunities, and position Worldline as the preferred payment solutions provider.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

New Business Acquisition & Growth

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities within the Transportation and Mobility sector across Europe with strong initial focus on the UK.
  • Build and nurture a pipeline of high-value prospects, leading them through the sales cycle from lead generation to contract closure.
  • Develop and execute a go-to-market strategy, targeting enterprise clients in Transportation and Mobility.
  • Lead commercial negotiations, pricing discussions, and contract structuring to maximize revenue growth.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure a smooth onboarding experience for new clients.

Strategic Market Expansion
  • Analyze market trends, regulatory updates, and competitive landscapes to identify opportunities for expansion.
  • Develop tailored value propositions that align with customer needs and Worldline's payment solutions portfolio.
  • Work closely with the product and innovation teams to ensure our offerings remain competitive and relevant to transportation and mobility industry trends.
  • Represent Worldline at industry events, conferences, and networking forums to build brand awareness and generate leads.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Work cross-functionally with account management, product, compliance, marketing, and operations teams to drive new business opportunities.
  • Partner with internal teams to enhance client engagement strategies and optimize sales processes.
  • Provide market feedback to help shape Worldline's product roadmap and service enhancements.

Skills & Experience Required:
  • Proven track record in business development, sales, or strategic partnerships within payments, transportation, mobility, or fintech industries.
  • Expertise in B2B sales, consultative selling, and complex deal negotiations.
  • Ability to develop compelling value propositions and communicate the benefits of Worldline's solutions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strategic mindset.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience working in a multinational and matrixed environment, collaborating across teams and geographies.
  • Strong network among public transportation operators, authorities and private mobility operators as well as system integrators is a plus.
  • Fluency in English; additional languages (e.g., French, German) are a plus.

Preferred Experience:
  • +10 years of "hunter" experience in business development, sales, or partnerships within the payments, fintech, or transportation and mobility.
  • Knowledge of payment solutions, cross-border transactions, and transportation & mobility industry payment challenges.
  • Experience with CRM tools such as Salesforce.
  • A strong entrepreneurial mindset, with a drive to hunt and close deals.
  • Experience leading regional expansion strategies and working with enterprise clients.
