Job summary

PlantSea Ltd. seeks a proactive Business Development Manager to own and grow its portfolio of commercial partnerships. You will drive long sales cycles with FMCG brands, craft proposals with R&D, and expand opportunities across international markets.

The role blends technical stakeholder engagement with strategic relationship management and travel to meet partners. Reporting to the CEO, you will collaborate closely with R&D and operations to scale PlantSea's seaweed-based biopolymer solutions

Qualifications

• Experience in business development or B2B sales, working with FMCG brands or other B2B customers such as film manufacturers.
• Track record of managing complex, long-term commercial relationships.
• Proven lead generation and pipeline management skills.
• Proficiency with CRM systems and productivity tools; comfortable with spreadsheets, reporting and data analysis.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret market data and support strategic decisions.
• Ability to engage confidently with technical stakeholders and coordinate input from scientific teams.
• Excellent written communication and presentation skills.
• Demonstrable interest in sustainability and circular economy to reduce plastic in consumer products.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage PlantSea's existing commercial relationships, acting as a professional contact for partners.
• Progress partners from technical evaluation to commercial agreements.
• Generate and qualify new leads and manage follow-up to convert opportunities.
• Conduct market research to track industry trends and identify target segments.
• Prepare proposals, presentations and sales materials with R&D.
• Maintain CRM records, manage pipeline and report to leadership.
• Represent PlantSea at industry events and with customers, including international travel.
