Business Development Manager - Southeast

Join to apply for the Business Development Manager - Southeast role at AIM

AIM produces a wide variety of bespoke insulation products to customer specification and manufactures bespoke ranges of fire, thermal and acoustic insulation products – primarily but not exclusively for the construction industry. AIM provides a first‑class service, supplying quality products on a rapid response basis.

With a drive to achieve organic growth, AIM is looking to strengthen its external sales team with the addition of a Business Development Manager role in the Southeast of England.

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and results‑driven Business Development Manager to join our team. As an experienced Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for owning and managing customer and installer relationships in the Southeast, with a territory running from Hampshire through to Kent and south London. Your primary focus will be demand creation and subsequent sales of AIM branded products, working hand‑in‑hand with key sub‑contractors and funneling project requirements through an aligned distribution network. Additionally, you will be seeking new business opportunities for AIM’s fabrication capabilities with OEM customers.

What does the role involve?

As a Business Development Manager, you will be the “on the ground” driving force for the growth of the AIM business within the Southeast of England. The primary challenge is to engage with your distribution customers so that they are fully aware of the AIM product and service offering, generating a steady flow of enquiries and sales. You will identify and build relationships with key installers so that their project requirements are serviced through your distribution customer base. You will work closely with AIM specification sales activities, ensuring that project specifications are held and understood by the installer base. Collaboration with technical support and internal sales personnel will help deliver the highest levels of customer support and service.

The successful candidate will require:
  • The ability to build and maintain strong relationships with customers, installers and colleagues
  • Construction industry knowledge, ideally within fire, thermal and acoustic insulation
  • An aptitude for understanding complex specifications and technical details associated with the design of the building envelope
  • Proven experience in sales‑driven roles dependent on the specifier‑to‑installer‑to‑distribution relationship
  • Able to demonstrate that they have established and cultivated strong relationships with channel partners and internal colleagues
  • A self‑motivated, continuous‑improvement mindset
  • A great communicator, both verbally and in written form
  • IT literate with extremely good attention to detail
In return we offer:
  • Competitive salary with annual pay award and staff recognition schemes
  • 25 days holiday + 8 bank holidays. Company closed during Christmas period
  • A great pension, with SIG contributing up to 7.5% and up to 4x life insurance
  • Money saving with retail discounts via colleague portal
  • Share Incentive Scheme
