Business Development Manager – South West

About the Role

As a Business Development Manager, you will identify and pursue new business opportunities to drive growth and revenue for regional large-sized channels across South West England, covering Birmingham down to Cornwall.

You will research market trends, identify potential partners and customers, negotiate contracts, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful implementation.

This is a permanent, field-based role (75% home-based: remote selling, 25% field-based) requiring residence within the territory. Territory travel, including overnight stays, and occasional off-territory travel for meetings and conferences will be necessary.

What You Will Do

  1. Responsible for acquiring new customers and developing opportunities with existing large-sized customers.
  2. Identify new sales opportunities through prospecting, networking, and market research, leveraging technology and internal systems for data-driven decision-making.
  3. Create and deliver persuasive presentations and proposals, articulating product and solution impacts on customer business.
  4. Negotiate contracts and close sales.
  5. Manage the sales pipeline, including forecasting and tracking performance metrics.
  6. Ensure customer expectations are met post-sale and address challenges during opportunity fulfillment to maintain wins.

Who You Are

This role is ideal for an existing account manager or business development manager with experience in the medical sector.

Desirable qualifications include:

  • Experience in medical sales or a background in biochemistry.
  • Good knowledge of the acute care sector in the region.
  • Experience in wound care is a distinct advantage.
  • Ability to develop professional relationships.
  • Commercial acumen.
  • Proficiency with IT and being tech-savvy.
