Business Development Manager – South West

About the Role

As a Business Development Manager, you will identify and pursue new business opportunities to drive growth and revenue for regional channels across the South West of England, covering Birmingham to Cornwall.

Your responsibilities include researching market trends, identifying potential partners and customers, negotiating contracts, and collaborating with cross-functional teams for successful implementation.

This is a permanent, field-based role (75% home-based, 25% field-based) requiring residence within the territory. Travel within the territory, including overnights, and occasional off-territory travel for meetings and conferences will be necessary.

What You Will Do

  1. Acquire new customers and develop opportunities with existing large-sized customers.
  2. Identify new sales opportunities through prospecting, networking, and market research, utilizing technology and internal systems for data-driven decisions.
  3. Create and deliver engaging presentations and proposals, articulating product and solution impacts.
  4. Negotiate contracts and close sales.
  5. Manage the sales pipeline, including forecasting and performance tracking.
  6. Ensure customer satisfaction and follow opportunities through to fulfillment, addressing challenges as needed.

Who You Are

Ideal candidates are experienced account or business development managers, preferably with a background in the medical sector.

Desirable qualifications include:

  • Experience in medical sales or a biochemistry background.
  • Knowledge of the acute care sector in the region.
  • Experience in wound care is a significant advantage.
  • Ability to develop professional relationships.
  • Proficiency with IT and being tech-savvy.
