SOCOTEC UK Ltd is seeking a proactive Business Development Manager to drive growth across environmental and occupational services, including Occupational Hygiene, Water Hygiene, Asbestos, Noise Monitoring, and Environmental Consultancy.

You will identify new markets, build client relationships, lead tenders, and collaborate with operations and cross-functional teams to maximize cross-selling and sustainable contracts.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in sales, marketing, or bids environments.
• Experience in construction, engineering, asbestos, or related sectors advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of SOCOTEC's environmental and occupational services offering in the UK/Ireland region.
• Identify new markets, develop customer relationships and secure profitable contracts.
• Coordinate with Operations Managers, Directors and sales team to win larger opportunities and maximize cross-selling.
• Oversee competitive tender submissions and maintain high levels of customer engagement.

Are you interested in driving business growth and securing new opportunities? This could be your opportunity to excel as a Business Development Manager, playing a vital role in supporting SOCOTEC's continued success and expanding its environmental and occupational services offering across Ireland.
As SOCOTEC continues to grow, we are looking for a dedicated Business Development Manager to lead the development of our environmental and occupational services offering. This includes Occupational Hygiene, Water Hygiene, Asbestos, Noise Monitoring and Environmental Consultancy, complementing the company's established Stack Emissions service based in Naas, Ireland. The successful candidate will play a key role in identifying new markets, developing customer relationships and creating new commercial opportunities across these service lines.
The role will focus on securing profitable new contracts and ad hoc work to achieve annual sales targets through proactive business development, building strong relationships with both new and existing customers, leading competitive tender submissions and maximising reactive sales opportunities. You will work closely with Operations Managers, Directors and the wider sales team to identify and secure larger SOCOTEC-wide opportunities, while collaborating with the existing Stack Emissions team in Naas to maximise cross-selling opportunities and provide customers with a comprehensive, joined-up service offering.
Through a strong commercial focus and close collaboration across the business, you will help establish and expand SOCOTEC's environmental and occupational services proposition in Ireland, supporting the delivery of sustainable, long-term growth.

Job requirements

To be a successful Business Development Manager, you should be able to demonstrate:

• Experience within sales, marketing, telesales, business development, or bids environments.
• Experience working within construction, engineering, asbestos, compliance, or related technical service sectors would be advantageous
• IT literate with strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, databases, and CRM systems.
• Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks.
• Able to manage priorities effectively and perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong focus on follow-up, relationship building, and delivering excellent customer engagement.
• Highly enthusiastic with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
