MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES IN THE BUSINESS:

An exciting opportunity for a driven, sales leader to join the rapidly expanding Business Applications Practice at Kainos, one of the UK’s fastest growing technology companies.

The Business Development Manager/Director is a new business sales role within the Business Applications Practice to define and execute the go-to-market strategy of Business Applications and Business Application services across the Healthcare Sector.

As a Business Applications Business Development Manager/Director in Kainos, you will take a lead role in the Healthcare Sector Business Development team, operating as an individual, responsible for growing our customer base and delivering our business development strategy. Having UK Public Healthcare expertise is essential for this role.

You will generate opportunity by developing an extensive network of industry contacts including senior stakeholders within the Central NHS, Trusts, and Private Healthcare space.

Through your existing network, existing Kainos stakeholder relationships within our client base, and leveraging connections through our Kainos Digital Services Healthcare Practice, you will lead strategic Business Development, ensuring cross-selling opportunities are maximized. You will work collaboratively with other members of the Business Development team as well as colleagues from other areas of the business including delivery, commercial, marketing, and operations, owning opportunity management from first conversation to contract.

Responsibilities

  • Developing the Business Applications services offerings and ‘go-to-market’ strategy for Healthcare Sector.
  • Manage and take ownership of the sales pipeline, qualifying and prioritising opportunities that will deliver sales against Business Applications services target.
  • Lead pre-sales activities including lead generation and asset development for Business Applications Healthcare Sector services.
  • Be an individual sales contributor for the Business Applications Practice.
  • Collaborate with existing business development and account teams to sell Business Applications and services to healthcare customers and prospects.
  • Contribute to key account planning sessions to ensure offerings are well promoted and positioned for success.
  • Promote Kainos externally as a Business Applications leader, developing new campaigns and events.
  • Be an ambassador for Kainos externally, embracing and promoting our culture, values, and behaviors.

Requirements

  • Significant experience selling Microsoft Business Applications (Power Platform, Dynamics), CRM, or Intelligent Automation services.
  • 5+ years proven success in new business technology services sales, with accountability for delivering against targets.
  • Proficiency in consultant-led selling, engaging with senior customers to understand business problems.
  • Experience developing new business offerings.
  • Extensive experience selling into the UK Healthcare Sector, especially within central NHS organizations and Trusts.
  • Customer success focused, with a proven ability to help customers deliver value from technology.
  • Strong collaboration skills with sales, subject matter experts, and engineers.
  • Knowledge of the sales process and deal negotiations, including complex offers.
  • Track record of achieving targets (quarterly and annually).
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and influencing skills at all organizational levels, including C-level.
  • Ability to operate in a competitive, high-pressure environment and make sound decisions.
  • Negotiation skills, ability to resolve escalations, and diffuse issues.
  • Networking skills to generate meetings with prospects.
  • Strong writing and presentation skills for articulating complex propositions clearly.
  • Leadership and influencing skills to lead bid teams and influence stakeholders.
