About Us

Concrete4Change (C4C) is a pioneering company developing breakthrough technology to capture and permanently mineralise CO₂ in concrete. Our patented additive reduces emissions while improving strength and durability, offering a scalable solution for one of the world’s most polluting industries. Having recently scaled up our production process 100×, we’re constructing a pilot plant in Nottingham that will run on real flue gas. Data from this system will directly inform the design of a commercial demonstrator 100× larger. C4C is backed by major industrial players (SCG, Goldbeck), partners with leading universities, and works with top European concrete manufacturers. This is a pivotal moment to join C4C as we scale from lab to industry.

The Role

We are seeking a results-driven Business Development Manager (BDM) to convert strong market interest into pilots, multi-site deployments, and long-term commercial agreements. This is a high-impact role where you’ll own the end-to-end sales cycle—from market mapping and outreach to proposal development, negotiation, and closing—working closely with C4C’s Chief Commercial Officer, technical team, and partners across cement, ready-mix, precast, and contractors. Joining C4C means more than driving sales: you will directly contribute to decarbonising one of the world’s most polluting industries and scaling a technology with global climate impact.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build and manage a qualified pipeline across priority customer segments (cement producers, ready‑mix & precast, admixtures, industrial partners).
  • Originate, structure, and close trials and pilot‑to‑plant scale‑ups; drive conversion to multi‑year commercial agreements/licenses.
  • Lead enterprise‑level, multi‑stakeholder sales and relationship development (technical, quality, sustainability, operations, finance).
  • Partner with R&D/technical teams on trial design, success criteria, and go/no‑go gates; turn results into commercial offers.
  • Develop economic cases (unit economics, cement reduction, CO₂ impact) and customer‑specific proposals.
  • Maintain rigorous CRM discipline, forecasting accuracy, and stage‑gated deal reviews; report monthly KPIs.
  • Represent C4C at industry events and prepare high‑quality customer collateral.
  • Support funding‑linked collaborations (e.g., Innovate UK/EU projects) with commercial deliverables.
  • Provide market intelligence to shape product roadmap and pricing strategy.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years’ B2B sales or business development experience in cement producers, ready‑mix & precast, admixtures, or construction.
  • Proven track record of closing 6–7 figure commercial deals and scaling pilots into contracts.
  • Strong commercial modelling and proposal development skills (pricing, unit economics, margins).
  • Technical fluency to engage with plant managers, QC/QA, sustainability leads, and R&D teams.
  • Process‑driven approach: CRM discipline, forecast accuracy, and structured deal management.
  • Willingness to travel across the UK/EU.
  • Established networks within major UK/EU cement and concrete producers.
  • Experience in licensing, offtake agreements, or channel partnerships.
  • Familiarity with concrete standards/EPDs and running industrial trials.
  • Exposure to climate tech, CCUS, or sustainable construction materials.
  • Additional languages (e.g., German, French, Spanish).
Benefits
  • Share options and performance‑based bonus.
  • Private health insurance and pension scheme.
  • Free meals and drinks at our Nottingham office.
