A growing construction business is seeking a Business Development Manager to join their team in Worcester. This role focuses on developing and maintaining strong business-to-business relationships within the construction sector, driving sales growth and managing key accounts.
Job Duties
- Develop and implement strategies to achieve sales targets and business growth within the construction industry
- Manage key client accounts, ensuring excellent customer service and long-term partnerships
- Identify new business opportunities and potential clients through research and networking
- Prepare and deliver professional presentations and proposals to prospective clients
- Negotiate contracts and agreements to secure profitable sales
- Collaborate closely with internal teams, including project management and operations, to ensure client requirements are met
- Monitor market trends and competitor activity to inform business development strategies
Required Qualifications
- Full, valid driving licence
Experience
- Proven experience in account management and sales within the construction industry
- Demonstrable success in achieving sales targets and developing client relationships
Knowledge and Skills
- Strong understanding of the construction sector and its sales processes
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Effective negotiation and presentation abilities
- Highly organised with strong time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficient in using standard office software and customer relationship management systems
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional qualification in sales or business development
- Experience working within a growing construction business
Working Conditions
- Based primarily in the Worcester office with regular visits to client sites across the Midlands
- Full-time hours, typically Monday to Friday, with occasional flexibility required to meet client needs
- Use of a company car allowance for travel to meetings and site visits
