Job summary

Reed in Greater Glasgow is seeking a commercially minded Business Development Manager to join a growing organisation operating within the construction and infrastructure sector. The role combines business development, marketing, relationship management and event leadership to identify new opportunities and strengthen client relationships.

You will coordinate marketing initiatives, manage a programme of corporate hospitality and networking events, and work with senior leadership to enhance market

Qualifications

  • Minimum HND qualification in Marketing, Business Studies, Event Management or related.
  • At least 4 years' experience in Business Development, Marketing, Account Management or Events.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain successful business relationships.
  • Experience organising and delivering corporate events and hospitality functions.
  • Excellent communication, networking and presentation skills.
  • Strong organisational and project management capabilities.
  • Professional, personable and confident in client-facing environments.
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and proactive approach.
  • Full UK driving licence and full right to work in the UK.
  • Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

This is a multifaceted role that combines business development, marketing, relationship management, and event leadership. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, strengthening existing client relationships, coordinating marketing initiatives, and managing a programme of high-profile corporate hospitality and networking events.

The role requires a confident, professional individual who enjoys building trusted relationships, representing an organisation at industry events, and creating opportunities that support long-term business growth.

Key Responsibilities

Candidate Requirements
Essential
  • Minimum HND qualification in Marketing, Business Studies, Event Management, or a related discipline.
  • At least 4 years' experience within Business Development, Marketing, Account Management, Events, or a related commercial role.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain successful business relationships.
  • Experience organising and delivering corporate events and hospitality functions.
  • Excellent communication, networking, and presentation skills.
  • Strong organisational and project management capabilities.
  • Highly professional, personable, and confident in client-facing environments.
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and proactive approach.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Full right to work in the UK.

  • Experience within the construction, engineering, infrastructure, property, or related sectors.
