Job summary

Normec's OWM division is seeking a driven commercial professional to drive growth in a marine/offshore context from Aberdeen. You will lead sales, develop opportunities, and ensure high-quality quotations in line with contract requirements.

The role emphasizes pipeline management, forecasting, and stakeholder engagement to achieve revenue targets. The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in work-winning, strategic negotiation, and a solid ethics/compliance mindset.

Qualifications

  • Strong commercial, contract, and risk management experience.
  • Strong financial management, forecasting, and project planning experience.
  • Proven work-winning experience within the marine/offshore services industry, with an understanding of market dynamics.
  • Strategic, results-driven approach with ethics and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Drive sales, work winning, delivery, and targets/KPIs with a strong pipeline of new business.
  • Identify and qualify growth opportunities across regions and forecast them.
  • Work with technical teams to develop high-quality quotations meeting contract requirements.
  • Build the OWM brand and relationships with clients, suppliers, and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with MD to drive revenue, monitor KPIs, and ROI on lead generation.
  • Maintain understanding of marine industry dynamics, pricing, contracts, and commercial requirements.
  • Support financial performance through contract management, budgets, forecasting, and cash flow.
  • Support delivery of high-quality products/services with health & safety and governance.
  • Develop a high-performing team and promote collaboration and innovation.

Step Into the Role

You will play a pivotal role in assisting and executing the company's strategic vision and business objectives. This position requires a seasoned, target driven professional with a proven track record in selling and delivering within a marine/offshore environment. You will have demonstrable skills in pipeline generation / work winning with a strong commercial background and connection to the marine industry. Driving work winning and business development globally as well as exceeding and to exceed targets and KPIs.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Drive sales, work winning, delivery, and achievement of targets/KPIs, maintaining a strong pipeline of new business.
  • Identify and qualify growth opportunities across regions, ensuring opportunities are prioritised, forecasted, and kept up to date.
  • Work with technical teams to develop high-quality quotations that meet contract requirements.
  • Build the OWM brand and strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and stakeholders through effective sales, marketing, networking, and industry engagement.
  • Work with the Managing Director to drive revenue growth, monitor KPIs, targets, reporting, and lead generation ROI.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the marine industry, including market dynamics, pricing, contracts, and commercial requirements.
  • Support financial performance through contract management, project budgets, forecasting, financial control, and cash flow management.
  • Support the delivery of high-quality products and services while maintaining strong Health & Safety, governance, and ethical standards.
  • Support and develop a high-performing team, promoting collaboration, innovation, and an inclusive workplace.

Your profile

Education:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required.
  • A Master's degree is preferred.
  • Chartered by a recognised industry body is preferred.

Experience:

  • Strong commercial, contract, and risk management experience
  • Strong financial management, forecasting, and project planning experience.
  • Proven work-winning experience within the marine/offshore services industry, with a strong understanding of market dynamics.
  • Strong strategic communication, influencing, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience approving technical documentation and delivering against financial and business targets.
  • Strategic, results-driven approach with a strong commitment to ethics and compliance.
