A leading financial technology company is looking for a Business Development Manager to enhance its new business efforts in the UK workplace pension market. This role involves managing partnerships, developing strategic relationships, and driving revenue growth while operating within a supportive and innovative work culture.

THE ROLE
We are looking for someone who has a proven track record of developing and managing intermediary relationships and acquiring defined contribution (DC) new business. Reporting into the Director of Business Development the individual will have an in-depth understanding of the UK workplace pension and retirement market, and be responsible for identifying, managing and executing on key partnerships and other intermediaries for the Smart Pension Master Trust to drive our business growth.
Responsibilities:
Manage a panel of existing partnerships to optimise the revenue potential
Identify new opportunities and relationships for the Smart Pension Master Trust to drive revenue growth
Lead and coordinate efforts across the deal cycle from identification and evaluation of opportunities through to pitching, negotiating, contracting and onboarding
Achieve annual targets delivering profitable and sustainable growth
Plan and deliver campaigns to maximise new business opportunities
Ongoing strategic relationship management of partnerships to optimise the revenue opportunity
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
The skills, experience, and aptitudes we are looking for are listed below but please don’t be discouraged from applying if you don’t meet every single one of these criteria – having a ‘can do’ attitude is sometimes more important than being able to tick every box:
Ideally at least 8+ years’ experience in the Financial Services Industry. The pension/retirement sector is preferred
A proven track record for driving B2B partnerships and executing complex deals.
Understanding and competence in prospecting, sales management, partnering, business development, account management and business growth
Customer-centric and commercial mindset.
Excellent communication and senior stakeholder management.
Entrepreneurial attitude, accepts and tackles goals with enthusiasm
