The Opportunity
As Business Development Director, you will own the enterprise sales function from prospecting through to closing major client partnerships. Working closely with marketing, CRM, strategy, and creative teams, you'll strengthen the agency's market position, drive new revenue, and build a scalable business development model to support long-term growth.
Mission
Lead revenue growth across agencies and advertisers by building relationships, creating commercial strategy, developing pipeline, and closing high-value partnerships.
This is a new business role, focused on generating growth rather than delivering campaigns.
Key Responsibilities

  • Own the full enterprise sales cycle, from prospecting and relationship building through to negotiation and close.
  • Drive new revenue through agencies and direct advertisers.
  • Develop and execute the agency's commercial growth strategy.
  • Build and maintain senior relationships across agency groups, advertisers, CMOs, CFOs, and other key decision-makers.
  • Generate and qualify opportunities through proactive business development and networking.
  • Manage pipeline forecasting and sales priorities alongside the CRO.
  • Lead strategic pitches, competitive tenders, and complex negotiations.
  • Represent the agency with credibility at all levels, including board and C-suite stakeholders.
  • Position the agency's strongest capabilities, including case studies, platforms, proprietary formats, data, and marketing expertise.
  • Develop commercially compelling client solutions leveraging marketing and influencer marketing expertise.
  • Partner with the Head of Platforms to unlock new growth opportunities.
  • Increase the agency's visibility through events, partnerships, awards, speaking opportunities, and thought leadership.
  • Design and embed a scalable, repeatable business development process.
  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure smooth conversion from prospect to client.
  • Lead and hold business development executives accountable for activity, performance, and results.
  • Act as the final decision-maker in sensitive and strategic negotiations.

Ideal Profile

  • 10+ years' experience in agency, marketing services, media, or enterprise sales environments.
  • Strong network across agencies and/or advertisers, with a proven ability to open doors and create opportunities.
