Business Change Manager (Data Evolution)

We’re looking for a Business Change Manager to lead change activities for our Data Evolution Programme, an ambitious initiative that will significantly enhance ITV’s data capabilities. The programme is focused on delivering one unified and trusted data platform, making data more accessible and intuitive for everyone, and enabling smarter, more impactful decision-making that’s future-ready.

In this role, you’ll own the end-to-end change strategy and plan, ensuring a colleague-centric, insight-driven approach to communication, training, engagement, and adoption. You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders across the business to deliver change that sticks, creating a future where data is truly at the heart of everything we do.

The team

The Transformation Management Office is responsible for ITV’s ongoing transformation, on behalf of the Management Board. We work with teams from all across ITV, driving the delivery of programmes and making sure we’re prioritising the people side too.

Responsibilities:

• Developing and owning the overall business change strategy, approach and plan, ensuring the deployment of Change reflects a colleague-centric ethos and resonates with the audience.
• Understanding the changes for a range of groups (e.g. Data Analysts, Data Engineers and the broader business) via a Change Impact Assessment and designing appropriate Change journeys.
• Defining (and iterating as needed) the Change narrative and story, based on the business case and programme objectives; owning the ongoing communications and engagement for the programme (both to build awareness and understanding, and to support activity related to specific product releases e.g. data migration and cutover).
• Designing a comprehensive learning curriculum and working with the ITV team and / or third parties to co-ordinate the delivery of both content and sessions (out-the-box training content will need to be tailored to ITV); partnering with our People (HR) team to run any ways of working workshops or training sessions to support broader capability building (non-system)
• Reinvigorating our 'Influencer' change network through regular engagement activities and equipping them to champion the changes
• Leading the delivery of the business change plan to budget and time; coordinating delivery timelines and managing interdependencies with the Programme Director; containing and resolving issues within the programme governance
• Acting as a senior leader for the programme, working with and equipping the Programme Director, Programme Sponsor (Chief Data Officer) and other senior leaders to cascade messages and secure buy-in (including up to Board level)
• Creating and maintaining a strong relationship with other teams both within and outside of the programme (e.g. Internal Communications, Technology) to ensure engagement activities are aligned to ITV guidelines and plans
• Supporting the ongoing development of ITV change methodologies and materials to build change capability
• Designing and managing a process to measure the readiness and effectiveness of business change (including adoption); implementing activity to react to feedback and address any resistance

Skills you’ll need (minimum criteria)

• Demonstrable experience of owning Change activity for transformation programmes within complex organisations
• Solid experience of delivering Change with a data & insight and / or technology team
• Experience of working closely and influencing senior stakeholders and programme sponsors (to Board level)
• Maturity of skills and breadth of experience in change management principles, methodology and tools
• Experience of leading Change activities where the reliance has not been solely on top-down mandate from the Leadership team
• Excellent communication skills, with a proven ability to present to and engage teams at all levels in a way which resonates
• Strong consultative, relationship management, networking and influencing skills
• A proactive, resilient, forward-thinking team player

Other things we’re looking for (key criteria)

• Experience of managing a team to deliver multiple packages of work concurrently
• Preferable: experience within a creative or media organisation
