Job summary

Symmetric Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Business Assurance Manager for its client in the UK. You will own the integrated management system covering ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001, lead internal and external audits, and provide independent assurance to senior leadership while overseeing day‑to‑day facilities management across UK sites.

You will maintain certifications, manage non-conformances and risk, coach a small assurance team and report findings to executives.

Qualifications

• Experience handling non-conformances and continual improvement.

Business Assurance Manager

The company

Our client is an established, growing advanced technology business with a strong reputation for engineering quality. It takes governance seriously, and this role is central to keeping the business compliant, certified and audit-ready.

The role

As Business Assurance Manager you’ll own the integrated management system covering ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001. You’ll lead internal and external audits and give senior leadership independent assurance that the business does what it says it does. You’ll also oversee day-to-day facilities management for the UK sites and lead a small assurance team.

What you’ll do

• Plan and deliver the annual internal audit programme across every department
• Lead preparation for external audits and act as the main contact for certification bodies and customer auditors
• Maintain ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 certification
• Run the non-conformance, risk and issue process, keep the registers and spot recurring trends
• Oversee the health, safety and environmental management systems, including incident investigations and reporting
• Report audit findings and recommendations to the senior management team
• Manage day-to-day facilities across the UK sites
• Coach and develop the Business Assurance team

What you’ll bring

• Internal audit experience in an ISO-certified environment
• Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001
• Experience managing non-conformances, corrective actions and continual improvement
• Knowledge of UK health, safety and environmental law
• A Lead Auditor or Internal Auditor qualification
• Confident report writing and the ability to challenge constructively at all levels
• Full UK driving licence
• A plus: IRCA Lead Auditor, NEBOSH, IOSH, CQI or IEMA membership, or experience in a regulated engineering or manufacturing environment
