Job description

Location: Sheffield, South Yorkshire, United Kingdom Deadline: 5th October 2026

Unleash your potential. Change the game with Gripple.

We’re looking for a hands-on applications professional who enjoys solving problems, keeping work organised and helping colleagues get the best from business systems.

Reporting to the Global IT Manager, you’ll support and improve Gripple’s applications, coordinate day-to-day delivery and manage two application developers. You’ll work within our wider global IT team, supporting colleagues across eight sites in Sheffield and Rotherham and contributing to agreed international projects.

The role combines practical applications work with a small people-management remit. It could suit an experienced applications analyst ready to step into team leadership, or an existing applications lead who enjoys staying hands-on.

Why Gripple?

We’re not just innovators—we’re game-changers. Since 1989, Gripple has led the charge in wire joining and suspension systems. As a 100% employee-owned business, we don’t just hire talent—we invest in it.

What’s in it for you:

  • Share ownership: Buy a stake in Gripple and the GLIDE group and share in our success
  • 15% non-contributory pension
  • 32 days’ holiday, increasing with long service, plus quarterly ‘thank you’ days and your birthday off
  • Private healthcare, family-focused policies, and exceptional benefits that support your wellbeing at every stage

The role:

Based at our Norfolk Bridge Works site, you will be reporting to and working with the Global IT Manager to support eight sites across Sheffield and Rotherham. Leading a small team and working as part of a global IT team of 20, your purpose will be to own key business systems including our ERP, CRM and PLM solutions as well as several key integrations.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Investigating and resolving application issues, coordinating escalations with suppliers and keeping users informed through to resolution.
  • Carrying out and coordinating application administration, including approved configuration and access changes, support records and documentation.
  • Maintaining a clear, prioritised backlog in Azure DevOps, turning business requests into actionable requirements and tracking work through to completion.
  • Organising application updates and releases with developers, business users and partners, ensuring testing, approvals and support documentation are complete.
  • Working with colleagues to identify and deliver practical improvements to business processes and applications.
  • Contributing to our global Dynamics 365 rollout by completing agreed activities, coordinating testing and preparing changes for ongoing support.
  • Managing two application developers through regular one-to-ones, clear objectives, workload planning and development support.

Who you are:

  • A positive, approachable leader with a strong customer-focused mindset and a genuine commitment to delivering great service.
  • Able to manage your own workload effectively while setting clear expectations and good working practices across the applications team.
  • A natural problem-solver who takes a structured, logical approach to diagnosing issues and finding practical solutions.
  • Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively within a wider IT team.
  • A genuine interest in technology, with an open and curious approach to new tools, ways of working, and continuously learning.
Skills and experience:
  • Practical experience supporting Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations and Customer Engagement, including user support, administration, security roles, configuration and issue investigation.
  • A working understanding of the business processes these applications support, including finance, purchasing, inventory, sales and customer management.
  • Experience investigating issues across connected applications and working with developers, support partners and vendors to resolve them.
  • Ability to translate business requests into clear requirements and coordinate changes through testing, release and documentation.
  • Familiarity with Dynamics 365 updates and release processes, including assessing impacts with technical colleagues and coordinating user testing.
  • Experience using Azure DevOps or a similar tool to maintain requirements, tasks, defects and delivery progress.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the discipline to maintain accurate documentation, prioritise competing demands and follow actions through to completion.
  • Clear communication skills and experience coordinating work, supporting colleagues or managing a small team.
