Job summary

Sabenza IT & Recruitment is seeking an experienced Business Analyst with a delivery focus to join the team. You will work across business and technology functions to identify needs, define clear requirements, evaluate solutions and manage multiple projects from discovery through to implementation and handover.

The role suits a mid to senior professional who can work independently, bring structure to complex initiatives and maintain delivery momentum across several projects and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in business analysis, systems analysis and project delivery at mid to senior level.
• Proven experience managing multiple concurrent projects.
• Ability to take initiatives from discovery through handover and testing.
• A Business Analysis qualification, diploma or recognised certification.
• Strong practical project management experience.
• Knowledge of project planning, governance, risk and change control.
• Practical understanding of relational databases, system integrations and SQL.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to explain complex information clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong organisation, accountability, problem-solving and commercial judgement.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate workshops, discovery sessions and stakeholder discussions.
• Gather, analyse and document business, functional and system requirements.
• Prepare business requirements, functional specifications, process maps, user stories, acceptance criteria and supporting documentation.
• Analyse existing processes and identify inefficiencies, control gaps and opportunities for improvement.
• Evaluate potential solutions based on operational fit, feasibility, cost, risk, business value, return on investment and scalability.
• Manage multiple projects or workstreams from planning through implementation, handover and post-implementation review.
• Develop and maintain project plans, milestones, risks, issues, dependencies and status reporting.
• Coordinate business owners, internal teams, software development teams and external vendors.
• Manage project governance, stakeholder communication and change control.
• Coordinate System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Support implementation readiness, training, communication, cutover and operational handover.
• Use SQL at an investigative level to validate information, trace transactions and support root-cause analysis.
• Identify practical technology and non-technology solutions that improve processes, controls, productivity and customer outcomes.

Requirements

• At least 5 years' relevant experience in business analysis, systems analysis and project delivery, with evidence of operating at a mid to senior level.

• Demonstrated ability to take initiatives from discovery and requirements through testing, implementation and handover.
• A Business Analysis qualification, diploma or recognised certification.
• Strong practical project management experience.
• Sound knowledge of project planning, stakeholder management, governance, risk and issue management, and change control.
• A practical understanding of relational databases, systems integrations and SQL.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to explain complex information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong organisation, accountability, problem-solving and commercial judgement.

Advantageous

• A relevant tertiary qualification in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering or a related field.
• A recognised project management qualification or certification.
• Experience within retail, supply chain, warehousing, manufacturing, finance, ERP, POS or store operations.
• Experience working with software development teams, third-party vendors and system integration projects.
• Knowledge of Agile, Waterfall and hybrid project delivery approaches.
• Experience developing business cases, benefits assessments and ROI evaluations.
