Job summary

Ocho People is seeking a Business Analyst with a strong Business Continuity focus in Belfast. You will lead the design, facilitation and delivery of a comprehensive Business Continuity framework across all directorates, working with senior leaders to create Business Impact Assessments and map critical processes.

You will translate analysis into practical continuity plans, support broader BA functions, and shape requirements for new technology solutions in a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of IT business analysis or business transformation/change experience.
• Experience liaising with business end users across a large organisation.
• Experience translating business requirements into system requirements.
• Experience delivering IT implementations using Agile and Waterfall methods.
• Broad technical understanding of SDLC, cloud, cybersecurity, and data protection.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, facilitation and delivery of a comprehensive Business Continuity framework across directorates.
• Facilitate workshops with senior leaders to gather continuity requirements.
• Perform Business Impact Assessments to identify critical services and recovery priorities.
• Map critical processes and dependencies across people, technology, facilities, suppliers and data.

• Translate outputs into clear Business Continuity Plans, procedures and maps.

• Define plan ownership, roles, responsibilities, escalation routes and governance.
• Support scenario-based exercises and track improvement actions to completion.

Our client is a specialist technology and engineering consultancy that partners with major organisations across critical infrastructure, utilities and regulated sectors to deliver large-scale transformation and resilience programmes. They are currently resourcing a high-profile engagement with a significant Northern Ireland operator, giving the successful candidate exposure to a complex, safety-critical environment and genuine influence over how the organisation plans for and responds to disruption.

The Role

This is a Business Analyst role with a clear and meaningful mandate: lead the design, facilitation and delivery of a comprehensive Business Continuity framework across all directorates of a large, regulated operational organisation. You will work directly with senior business leaders and subject matter experts to build Business Impact Assessments, map critical processes, and translate that analysis into practical, well-governed Business Continuity Plans. You will also support the broader business analysis function, helping shape requirements for new technology solutions and change initiatives. This suits someone who is equally comfortable running a workshop with senior stakeholders and writing the plan that follows it.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, facilitation and delivery of a Business Continuity framework across all directorates
• Facilitate workshops with senior leaders, process owners and subject matter experts to gather and validate continuity requirements
• Undertake Business Impact Assessments to identify critical services, activities, operational impacts and recovery priorities
• Map critical business processes and their dependencies, including people, technology, facilities, suppliers and information
• Define and validate recovery time objectives, recovery point objectives and minimum service levels
• Identify resilience gaps, single points of failure and key risks, and recommend opportunities to strengthen existing arrangements
• Translate workshop and analysis outputs into clear Business Continuity Plans, procedures, process maps and improvement actions
• Align continuity requirements with existing incident response, crisis management and service recovery arrangements
• Define plan ownership, roles, responsibilities, escalation routes and governance arrangements
• Support scenario-based exercises, capture lessons learned and track improvement actions through to completion
• Support the translation of wider business requirements into system requirements for new technology solutions

What You'll Need

Essential:

• 5+ years of IT business analysis or business transformation/change experience
• Proven experience liaising with business end users across a large organisation
• Experience supporting the translation of business requirements into system requirements
• Experience supporting a large IT implementation or transformation programme
• Experience delivering IT implementations using both Agile and Waterfall methodologies
• Experience supporting and developing a broad range of business applications
• Broad technical understanding of Agile methodologies, SDLC, IT infrastructure, databases, cloud computing, cybersecurity, data protection and IT governance

Desirable / Nice to Have:

• Previous experience in business continuity, operational resilience, critical infrastructure, utilities or another regulated operational environment
• Working knowledge of ISO 22301
