Position Overview:
Ameresco Energy Supply Management (ESM) is an award-winning management consultancy business, specialising in energy, providing strategic advice, risk management and energy analytics and energy optimisation services to clients throughout the UK. Ameresco are going through an exciting period of planned growth and are looking to recruit for their office in Leeds, Yorkshire.
The ESM function is a leading utility consultancy with an enviable track record and reputation for innovation and exceptional Client service. We have a unique combination of energy industry, trading and financial expertise (developed at Yorkshire Electricity, Scottish Power, Npower, BP and Ernst & Young) that ensures we bring a multi-disciplined approach to the optimal procurement, planning and ongoing management of energy costs, usage and associated carbon emissions.
Ameresco ESM have placed over 2,000 energy contracts worth in excess of £1 billion with 35+ suppliers on behalf of nearly 200 clients. We focus on a small number of high-value industrial and commercial clients with a considerable energy spend.

Team Structure - Energy Supply Management
There are three principle teams within ESM – Client Services, Pricing and Carbon. This role may support one or all of these teams.

Role Scope – Business Analyst
This is a pivotal role reporting directly to the Client Service Manager, but with responsibilities likely to extend across the whole ESM function. The role may include:

1. Building and maintaining bill validation tools and techniques
2. Acting as a super user – maintaining excellence in data on a daily basis
3. Supporting requests and training requirements for the ESM function
4. Assisting the business with complex queries and project work
5. Perform other duties as assigned

Role Duties – Business Analyst

1. Support all client facing teams to allow them to efficiently carry out their duties
2. Problem solving and maintenance of complex Excel tools
3. Providing solutions to ad hoc operational queries
4. Identify and expand Ameresco capabilities with our client facing offers
5. Energy industry analytical tasks

Experienced in

1. Data analytics and an expert excel user
2. Handling large quantities of numerical data
3. Handling team and managerial queries in a complex business environment
4. Ability to handle multiple workstreams and activities
5. Handling large client portfolios
6. Relevant industry knowledge would be a bonus, but enthusiasm, problem solving and a willingness to learn about the UK energy industry is essential

Personal Attributes

1. The candidate must be self-starter who can identify priorities within the business – there may be periods without close supervision.
2. The successful candidate will be a clear communicator, confident and have a flexible approach to work. They will be customer focused, passionate about energy and the challenges it presents.
3. They should be able to demonstrate good organisational skills including the ability to multi-task, prioritise work under pressure and complete within deadlines.
