The City Office team plays a pivotal role in advancing the delivery of ambitious action plans by coordinating efforts across its One City thematic boards, the One City Partners Group, and a range of networks, and task and finish groups. Designed to be facilitative by nature, the City Office fosters collaboration, alignment, and shared ownership among stakeholders from across a range of sectors. By creating the conditions for effective partnership working, the City Office helps to drive forward collective action on the city’s most pressing challenges and opportunities, ensuring that strategic goals are translated into meaningful outcomes for all citizens.
What will I be doing?
As a One City Business Support Apprentice, you will have the opportunity to learn and develop essential skills in business administration while contributing to the efficient operation of the City Office team. You'll work alongside experienced professionals, receiving training and guidance to support your growth and development.
You will assist with the delivery of routine administrative tasks, dealing with day-to-day work including (but not limited to):
- Managing the One City inbox on behalf of the City Office team
- Assist with all aspects of meeting management including scheduling appointments, managing calendar, taking minutes and sending out meeting documentation.
- Support the organisation and delivery of events
- Support with administration of projects and operational delivery
- Support the head of service on team management processes

What do I need to have?
- Functional Skills Level 2 in Maths and English (or equivalent), which is a Grade C or 4 GCSE
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Enthusiasm to learn and develop new skills in a fast-paced environment.
