Job summary

Stagecoach Barnstaple is seeking a proactive Bus/PSV Mechanic to maintain and repair a modern and varied fleet, including electric vehicles, at our Barnstaple depot. The role focuses on safety and quality, with ongoing training and development.

You will diagnose faults, service vehicles, and support apprentices while working as part of a collaborative team committed to keeping the community moving.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience working on commercial or specialist vehicles.
• Safety-first attitude and attention to detail.
• Team player with good communication skills.
• Previous experience working on buses or large passenger vehicles (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair our fleet of buses to DVSA and Stagecoach safety standards.
• Diagnose and fix mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults.
• Carry out routine inspections, servicing, and occasional roadside repairs.
• Support apprentices by sharing knowledge and experience.
• Work safely and efficiently as part of a depot team.
