Job summary

Stagecoach is seeking a hands-on Bus Service Engineer/Technician to join our team at the St Helens Depot. You’ll service and repair buses, diagnose faults, and perform roadside repairs to keep the fleet safe and reliable.

Qualifications

• A qualified engineer with City & Guilds Level 3 or NVQ Level 3 in PSV or HGV Maintenance (or equivalent).
• Hands-on experience servicing and repairing commercial vehicles; ideally in bus/coach/truck/HGV environments.
• Confident using diagnostic tools and service manuals.
• Proactive, safety-first approach.
• Team player with strong work ethic and attention to detail.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining and servicing buses to Stagecoach and DVSA safety standards.
• Diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults using modern diagnostic tools.
• Carrying out preventative and reactive maintenance, including roadside repairs.
• Reporting defects and completing all work safely and in line with policies.
• Collaborating with workshop colleagues and supporting junior team members.
