Job summary

Stagecoach Group in St Helens is seeking a PSV/HGV Engineer on a full-time basis to service and repair our modern bus fleet at the St Helens Depot. You will diagnose faults, carry out preventative maintenance and support roadside repairs to keep services moving.

We require City & Guilds Level 3 or NVQ Level 3 in PSV/HGV maintenance (or equivalent), a full UK driving licence, and hands-on experience with commercial vehicles.

Qualifications

• Qualified engineer with City & Guilds Level 3 or NVQ Level 3 in PSV/HGV maintenance.
• Experience servicing and repairing commercial vehicles.
• Full UK driving licence and diagnostic tool proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining and servicing buses to safety standards.
• Diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults.
• Carrying out preventative and reactive maintenance including roadside repairs.
• Reporting defects and ensuring work complies with policies.
• Collaborating with workshop colleagues and mentoring juniors.

You'll play a vital role in keeping our modern, low-emission fleet safe, reliable, and ready to serve the community. Whether you’re servicing vehicles, diagnosing faults, or carrying out roadside repairs, this is a role where your expertise makes a visible difference every day.
