Job summary

KM Recruitment is supporting a Transport Training Academy to recruit a Bus Driver Trainer (Trainee or Qualified) to deliver classroom and workshop sessions across Newcastle and Sunderland. The role is full-time and involves training new and existing drivers.

Training will cover CPC, compliance and driving theory; full training will be provided to achieve Trainer/Assessor award. PCV and CPC licences, driving experience and IT literacy are essential. Travel between sites is required.

Qualifications

• Must hold valid PCV and CPC licences.
• Must have experience of delivering training, or mentoring, colleagues on-the-job (e.g. practical training; classroom training; CPC training; route learning; vehicle checks etc.)
• Must hold solid, occupational experience as a Bus Driver.
• Comfortable and confident to deliver classroom / workshop-based group sessions.
• Must be I.T. literate.
• Full, clean, UK driving licence and use of own vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a fully funded training programme for aspiring bus drivers, alongside ongoing development and mandatory CPC training for existing drivers.
• Training delivery will be in-person classroom/workshop based.
• Organise and maintain documentation on learners’ progress.
• Overcome barriers to learning and adapt delivery to meet learner’s needs.
• Work to learner review and completion timescales.
