Borders Buses in Berwick-upon-Tweed is seeking experienced PCV Drivers for secure, permanent roles. The depot offers full-time and part-time opportunities, with paid CPC training, 30 days holiday, overtime on sixth day, and free travel across the Borders Buses network.

As a PCV Driver you will operate local routes, deliver safe, reliable journeys, handle payments where required, and support community connections.

Qualifications

• Hold a valid PCV licence entitlement.
• Up-to-date Driver CPC qualification.

• Ability to work independently and take responsibility for passenger safety.
• Willing to relocate or travel from Berwick-upon-Tweed if needed.

Responsibilities

• Safely and professionally operate buses on local service routes.
• Provide excellent customer service and a safe, comfortable journey.
• Ensure on-time connections and safe passenger journeys.
• Handle cash and card payments where required.
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and report defects.

Are you an experienced PCV Driver looking for a secure and rewarding role in Berwick-upon-Tweed?

Borders Buses is looking for professional, customer-focused PCV Drivers to join our friendly team at our Berwick-upon-Tweed depot. We have opportunities available on both a full-time and part-time basis.

Every journey matters. Whether you are helping customers travel to work, school, appointments, the shops or further afield, you will play an important role in providing a safe, reliable and welcoming service to the communities we serve.

Working in Berwick-upon-Tweed

Based at our Berwick-upon-Tweed depot, you will help keep communities connected across the North Northumberland, the Scottish Borders and beyond. You will be part of a supportive local team in a varied role where no two days are the same.

The Role

As a PCV Driver, you will:

• Safely and professionally operate buses on local service routes
• Provide excellent customer service and a safe, comfortable journey for every passenger
• Help connect local communities by getting customers to their destinations safely and on time
• Handle cash and card payments accurately and responsibly, where required
• Complete daily vehicle checks and report defects in line with company procedures
• Work independently while maintaining high standards of safety, reliability and professionalism
• Represent Borders Buses positively through your driving standards, appearance and customer care

What you'll need

• A valid PCV licence entitlement
• An up-to-date Driver CPC qualification
• A professional, reliable and safety-focused approach
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• The confidence to work independently and take responsibility for the safety and comfort of your passengers
• To live within a reasonable travelling distance of Berwick-upon-Tweed or be willing to relocate
• To obtain and maintain satisfactory PVG and DBS scheme membership, where required for the role
