Job summary

Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust is seeking a Band 4 Nursing Associate for the Burns Ambulatory Care unit at Pinderfields Hospital, Wakefield. You will support wound care, dressings and pre-theatre preparation alongside a Registered Nurse in a busy ambulatory setting.

You’ll work with a multidisciplinary team, undertake occasional rotations, and contribute to safeguarding and patient education. Full support for extended competencies in burn care is provided.

Qualifications

• Nursing Associate qualification and NMC registration.
• End point assessment where applicable.
• GCSE English and Maths (A-C) or Level 2 equivalents.
• IELTS 7.0 if English is second language.
• Evidence of continuing professional development.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, compassionate care in the Burns Ambulatory Care Service.
• Perform burn wound assessments and dressing changes per care plans.
• Provide patient-centred care promoting healing, comfort and wellbeing.
• Rotate within the Burn Centre to support care of complex burns.
• Collaborate with MDT to ensure timely assessment and intervention.
• Recognise safeguarding concerns and escalate appropriately.
