Davies seeks a Subsidence Building Technician to manage subsidence claims from mitigation through to final repair and settlement. You will work with customers, contractors and insurers, driving claims to settlement with proactive cost control and investigations.

The role suits building professionals with trade expertise or a graduate surveyor looking to develop a career in claims management, within a values-led environment.

Formación

• Subsidence/buildings insurance claims experience OR extensive trade experience (5+ years) OR graduate building surveyor.
• Excellent communication and organisation skills.
• Strong customer service mindset and IT literacy.

Responsabilidades

• Drive subsidence claims toward settlement as part of a desk-based team.

• Produce technical reports to meet SLA’s and manage daily tasks.

Description

We're looking for a Subsidence Building Technician to join our growing team and play a key role in helping customers navigate complex subsidence claims from mitigation through to final repair and settlement.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with subsidence or property claims experience, a building professional with strong trade expertise, or a graduate surveyor looking to develop their career. You'll manage claims from start to finish, working with customers, contractors and insurers while overseeing investigations, repairs, cost control and settlement negotiations.
The role consists of the management of subsidence claims, with a focus on the Mitigation or Repair phase of the claim. This will be to efficiently manage each phase proactively, to seek an effective and efficient outcome for the claim journey.

What will your day look like:

Main duties and responsibilities will be to work as part of our desk-based subsidence team to drive subsidence claims towards settlement and will include:

• Communicating with customers, contractors and insurer clients over the telephone, email and in writing
• Production of technical reports, to meet SLA’s
• Management of daily tasks
• Managing third party companies to achieve vegetation removal and drain repairs to mitigate the cause of subsidence damage
• Updating and creating building repair scopes using our in-house schedule of rates
• Assessing contractor estimates
• Negotiating cash settlements for repairs with policyholders
• Managing panel contractors, controlling repair schedules and costs
• Settling claims under delegated authority
• Maintain a high level of personal competence
• Adhere to Company systems and procedures
• Updating the claim information relevant claims IT system
• Actively promote the principle of Treating Customer Fairly
• Respond to requests and tasks set by the Senior members of the team.
• Undertake any other tasks that are reasonably assigned to you from time to time

Knowledge and Abilities:

• Previous subsidence/buildings insurance claims experience OR extensive trade experience (5+ years) OR be a graduate building surveyor
• Demonstrate great communication and organisation skills
• Ability to demonstrate a high standard of customer service
• Computer literate, with excellent verbal and written communication skills (minimum GCSE English grade C or equivalent)
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced target driven environment
• Positive attitude and be a flexible, adaptive, self-motivated team player
• Attention to detail and ability to assess and resolve problems and find solutions
• Some knowledge and understanding of Subsidence in relation to insurance claims
• Some knowledge or experience of managing technical building claims
• Some knowledge and understanding of Claims Handling
• Excellent telephone skills
• Experience and Understanding of Customer Service
• Excellent computer literacy
• Articulation and good communication skills
• The ability to organise own workload
