2gether Support Solutions Limited is seeking a proactive Building Technician to join the Estates team. The role covers maintenance, compliance, and repairs across the estate, with travel between hospitals and a 8am-4pm, Monday-to-Friday schedule.

You will perform a range of tasks from routine upkeep to major refurbishments with strong technical knowledge and the ability to work largely unsupervised.

Qualifications

  • Recognised qualification in a building trade (e.g. Carpentry).
  • Structured training programme completed (minimum 3 years).
  • In-depth knowledge of woodworking and rotating machinery.
  • Proficiency in joinery techniques and drainage systems.
  • Experience with roofing, vinyl flooring, windows/doors, and locksmithing basics.
  • Understanding of building fabric systems (electrical or mechanical bias acceptable).
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Awareness of asbestos, COSHH, and legionella risks.
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload.
  • Experience in a healthcare or hospital environment.

Responsabilités

  • Deliver planned and reactive maintenance across building fabric.
  • Carry out tiling, roofing, tarmac repairs, joinery and refurbishment tasks.
  • Maintain and inspect fire doors and fire prevention systems per HTM.
  • Operate the CAFM system to handle updates and documentation.
  • Respond to emergencies using Trust communication devices.
  • Liaise with stakeholders and contractors for efficient works.
  • Provide technical guidance to apprentices and juniors.
  • Maintain safety standards and comply with Health & Safety law.

2gether Support Solutions is a Facilities and Estates services company providing support to healthcare professionals caring for over 2000 patients daily across multiple East Kent hospital sites. 2gether provides vital services including maintenance, cleaning, catering, procurement, logistics and much more.

We are seeking a proactive and skilled Building Technician to join our Estates team. This key role is responsible for delivering high quality building fabric maintenance, compliance activities, and reactive repairs across our estate. Working largely unsupervised, you’ll carry out a wide range of tasks that support the safety, integrity, and functionality of our facilities. From routine maintenance to major refurbishments. The role requires strong technical knowledge, a relevant trade qualification (e.g. Carpentry), and the ability to make sound decisions independently.

Working hours are Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm.

You will be based on site but travel can be expected between our hospitals, so a full UK driving licence is required.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver planned and reactive maintenance across building fabric, including:

  • Wall and floor tiling, roofing, tarmac repairs
  • Joinery, locksmithing, and refurbishment of furniture, windows, and doors
  • Maintain and inspect fire doors and fire prevention systems (in line with HTM regulations)
  • Operate the CAFM system to manage job updates, time tracking, and documentation
  • Respond promptly to emergencies using Trust communication devices
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders and contractors, ensuring works are carried out efficiently
  • Provide technical advice and mentorship to apprentices and junior staff
  • Maintain safety standards and comply with all Health and Safety legislation
What We’re Looking For
  • Recognised qualification (City & Guilds, BTEC or equivalent) in a building trade (e.g. Carpentry)
