Job summary

Edinburgh Napier University is recruiting a Building Systems Engineer to optimise performance and reliability of Building Management Systems across the campus portfolio.

You will use your electrical background to manage installation, fault finding, and programming of BMS, lighting and electrical infrastructure, driving energy efficiency and cost-effective operation while ensuring compliance with health and safety and ACOP duties.

Qualifications

• Recognised electrical qualification or equivalent experience.
• City and Guilds qualification or equivalent.
• Relevant health and safety qualification or significant experience of health and safety.
• Ability to integrate BMS with other building systems.
• Experience of installation and addressing, fault finding and programming of systems.
• Managing H&S and other legislative, ACOP duties and responsibilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for maintenance programmes for site electrical and building management systems.
• Schedule and implement planned and reactive works ensuring 24/7 management across the portfolio.
• Lead design and implementation of energy reduction strategies to optimise energy efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with statutory legislation to keep the university safe for students, staff and visitors.
• Collaborate with Asset Management to resolve repeated faults and drive system upgrades.
