Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council is recruiting a Building Surveyor to join the Property and Assets team. The role covers day-to-day repairs, compliance works, and inspecting empty properties within the operational and investment portfolio, with external advisor input as needed.

You will develop programmes of work and support urgency of empty-property works to maximise rental income. The post emphasises joining a small team, with opportunities to work towards RICS or CIOB qualification and

• Surveyor working towards RICS or CIOB qualification.

Responsibilities

• Day to day response repairs
• Compliance works
• Inspection of empty properties
• Developing and managing small programmes of work (capital and revenue)
• Ensuring works to empty properties are carried out quickly to maximise rental income
• Undertake out of hours emergency duties including weekends
