Job summary

Fulkers Bailey Russell in Brighton is seeking a Building Surveyor to join our Public Sector team, delivering across health, education and local government projects. You will work with senior surveyors to oversee tasks from start to finish, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure projects are safe, on time and within budget.

The role offers hybrid working with on-site visits as needed, supporting professional development and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Degree qualification (RICS-accredited or equivalent).
• Chartered or working towards RICS chartership.
• Strong technical grounding across core building surveying areas.
• Ability to manage projects with minimal supervision.
• Client-focused with cost-effective, outcome-based solutions.
• Enhanced DBS check required.

Responsibilities

• Act as Contract Administrator and/or Employers Agent when required.
• Prepare project design and specifications.
• Manage projects of varied size and complexity.
• Undertake surveys and site inspections.
• Prepare tender documentation, tender evaluations, and tender recommendations.
• Provide contractual advice pre and post contract to design team and clients.
• Prepare existing and proposed CAD plans, reviewing plans.
• Lead multi-disciplinary project teams.
• Act as lead designer.
• Coordinate site visits and surveys.
• Undertake general day-to-day project duties.
• Prepare feasibility reports.
• Prepare Building Regulation and planning applications.
• Assist with Party Wall matters, acquisitions and dilapidations.
• Maintain health and safety compliance.
• Contribute to social and environmental impact improvements.
