Job summary

Knight Frank is seeking a Building Surveyor to join the Glasgow Building Consultancy team. You will work on a varied portfolio of commercial property instructions, delivering high-quality technical advice and building strong relationships with clients across the market.

You’ll gain exposure to professional and project work, take ownership of instructions, develop client relationships and contribute to business growth. MRICS qualification and relevant post-qualification experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• A degree in Building Surveying or a related discipline.
• MRICS qualified, ideally, with relevant post-qualification experience.
• Experience delivering a range of building surveying professional and project instructions.
• Strong technical knowledge and report-writing skills.
• Excellent communication and client relationship skills.
• Good commercial awareness and a proactive approach.
• The ability to manage multiple instructions and work effectively to deadlines.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Microsoft Project and NBS Specification Writer would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Work across a varied range of commercial property instructions including project management and contract administration.
• Provide dilapidations advice, schedules and negotiations.
• Handle landlord and tenant matters and pre-acquisition surveys.
• Prepare schedules of condition and building surveys, defect diagnosis and pathology reports.
• Prepare reinstatement cost assessments; produce specifications and technical docs.
• Support party wall instructions and client liaison with stakeholders.
