Job summary

MPJ Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced Building Surveyor to join their team in the Stevenage area. The role encompasses validating domestic and commercial building claims, site assessments, and overseeing reinstatement projects from start to finish.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in building pathology and claims handling, with project management experience and excellent report-writing and stakeholder communication skills.

Qualifications

• Experience in domestic and commercial building claims validation.
• Strong background in building pathology and damage assessment.
• Experience in project management and reinstatement work.
• Excellent report writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed site visits and assess building damage.
• Validate claims against policy coverage and determine liability.
• Communicate with policyholders regarding claim decisions and repair scopes.
• Prepare repair schedules and review variation requests.
• Interpret policy wordings and apply claims-handling guidelines.
• Manage claims through assessment, repair scheduling, fulfilment and final reporting.
• Manage contractors and ensure repairs meet specifications.
• Produce detailed client reports within agreed timescales.
• Provide technical support to claims handlers and wider teams.
• Attend complex claims, project management visits and complaints when required.
• Develop repair methodologies to minimise disruption and manage claim costs.
