Job description

My client are seeking an experienced and highly competent Chartered Building Surveyor to join their team.

This is a client-facing role that requires a professional who can deliver high-quality services across a wide portfolio. The ideal candidate will bring specialist experience within the education, social housing, residential, and commercial property/asset management sectors, with a proven track record of managing complex projects and providing trusted advice to clients.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage projects for Academy and Multi-Academy Trust clients, including delivery of capital works and estate management.
• Prepare and manage successful Condition Improvement Fund (CIF) bid writing and submissions.
• Manage projects for social housing clients, working within consultancy frameworks, and providing strategic advice on asset management and compliance.
• Deliver building surveying services for residential and commercial properties, with specific experience in Higher Risk Buildings (HRB).
• Undertake and report on FRAEW (Fire Risk Appraisals of External Walls) and Type 4 FRA reports, ensuring compliance with fire safety regulations.
• Conduct condition, dilapidation, reinstatement cost assessments, and technical due diligence surveys.
• Oversee contract administration, tendering, procurement, and project delivery.

Requirements

• Chartered status with MRICS (Building Surveying Pathway).
• Proven post-qualification experience, particularly within education, social housing, residential, and commercial property sectors.
• Demonstrable experience of Managing Academy and MAT clients/projects.
• Working within social housing consultancy frameworks.
• Managing residential and commercial property clients, including HRBs.
• Undertaking FRAEW and Type 4 FRA reports.
