Job summary

Bimplus is seeking a Building Surveyor to join our expanding Leeds team. This role offers structured APC support and progression towards MRICS.

You will work across diverse property assets in a collaborative environment, gaining valuable experience in both professional and project-based Building Surveying activities within a growing team.

Qualifications

• RICS-accredited degree (2:1 or above) preferred.
• Experience as Building Surveyor within a consultancy.
• Desire to achieve MRICS through APC.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Good IT skills; AutoCAD and NBS advantageous.
• Organised with good time-management.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Carry out building and condition surveys.
• Prepare specifications and schedules of work.
• Administer contracts and manage projects.
• Clerk of works and site inspections.
• Analyse defects and report on findings.
• Prepare dilapidations schedules and support negotiations.
• Provide advice on design, construction, and refurbishment.
• Attend client and project meetings.
• Assist with maintenance programmes and estimates.
• Support senior surveyors on multidisciplinary projects.
• Supervise on-site works.

Job description

A leading multidisciplinary property and built environment consultancy is looking to appoint a Building Surveyor to join its expanding Leeds team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Building Surveyor looking to progress towards MRICS, with full support through a structured APC programme and an experienced local Building Surveying team.

You’ll work across a varied portfolio of commercial, industrial, educational and other property assets, gaining valuable exposure to both professional and project-based Building Surveying work.

The Role

You’ll be involved in a broad range of Building Surveying services, including:

• Undertaking building and condition surveys.
• Preparing specifications and schedules of work.
• Contract administration and project management.
• Clerk of works and site inspections.
• Building defect analysis and reporting.
• Preparing schedules of dilapidations.
• Supporting dilapidations negotiations.
• Advising on building design, construction, maintenance and refurbishment.
• Attending client and project meetings.
• Obtaining estimates and assisting with planned maintenance programmes.
• Supporting senior surveyors on complex multidisciplinary projects.
• Supervising building works on site.
• Developing strong relationships with clients and other project stakeholders.

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• A relevant RICS-accredited degree, ideally 2:1 or above.
• Building Surveying experience within a consultancy environment.
• A genuine ambition to achieve MRICS through the APC.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office; AutoCAD and NBS experience would be advantageous.
• Excellent organisation and time-management skills.
• A proactive and professional approach.
• A full UK driving licence.
• The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
