Job summary

Firm of Chartered Surveyors is seeking a Junior/Residential Building Surveyor to perform Level 2 Homebuyer Reports, Level 2 Plus Valuations, and Level 3 Building Surveys across London and surrounding counties. Hybrid role with fieldwork and report writing from home, based from the Hertfordshire office when needed.

You will work toward MRICS/AssocRICS with a solid understanding of building pathology, possess a UK driving licence, and be prepared to travel within a reasonable patch.

Qualifications

• AssocRICS/MRICS or working toward full membership.
• Experience in Level 2 and Level 3 residential surveys.
• Solid understanding of building pathology and property defects.
• VRS status is an advantage but not essential.
• Full UK driving licence and comfortable covering travel patch.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out Level 2 Homebuyer Reports, Level 2 Plus Valuations, and Level 3 Building Surveys on residential properties across London and surrounding counties.
• Providing property and reinstatement valuations, producing detailed reports, identifying defects, and communicating findings clearly to clients.
• All work carried out in line with RICS standards.

JUNIOR / RESIDENTIAL BUILDING SURVEYOR

Job Title: Residential Building Surveyor

Location: Hertford, SG14 1DX (Hybrid)

Salary: £40,000 to £50,000 depending on experience, plus £3,500 car allowance and fuel card

A contract arrangement will also be considered for the right person.

A well established and reputable firm of Chartered Surveyors is looking for a Residential Building Surveyor to join their growing team. The business has built a strong reputation for delivering high quality, client focused surveying services across London and the surrounding counties, and this is a genuine opportunity to join a professional, supportive team with real flexibility built into the working model.

The role is hybrid, with a mix of field based survey work and home working for report writing and admin. You will be based from their Hertfordshire office when needed.

What you will be doing

Carrying out Level 2 Homebuyer Reports, Level 2 Plus Valuations, and Level 3 Building Surveys on residential properties across London and surrounding counties. You will also be providing property and reinstatement valuations, producing detailed reports, identifying defects, and communicating findings clearly to clients throughout the process. All work is carried out in line with RICS standards.

What they are looking for

AssocRICS, MRICS or working toward full RICS membership. Experience in Level 2 and Level 3 residential surveys and a solid understanding of building pathology and property defects. VRS status is an advantage but not essential, and those eligible and working toward it will be considered. You will need a full UK driving licence and be comfortable covering a reasonable travel patch.
