Job summary

MMP Consultancy invites applications for an experienced Building Surveyor to join its Property Projects team in East London. You will oversee the technical delivery of capital works, refurbishment and asset improvement projects across a large public sector portfolio.

Responsibilities include leading procurement, acting as Employer's Agent, coordinating multi-disciplinary teams, and ensuring CDM and Building Regulations compliance. The role offers hybrid working and a daily rate of £400–£450.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering construction, refurbishment, remodelling or capital works projects.
• Strong technical Building Surveying knowledge and contract administration experience.
• Working knowledge of JCT contracts and public sector procurement processes.
• Experience managing contractors, consultants and multi-disciplinary project teams.
• Sound understanding of CDM Regulations, Health & Safety legislation and Building Regulations.
• Knowledge of the Building Safety Act 2022 and wider compliance requirements.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities effectively.

Responsibilities

• Produce designs, specifications, schedules of work and tender documentation.
• Lead procurement exercises and administer construction contracts throughout the project lifecycle.
• Act as technical lead and Employer's Agent, managing consultants, contractors and design teams.
• Carry out site inspections, monitor quality, progress and compliance with project requirements.
• Manage contract administration activities including variations, extension of time assessments, practical completion and defects management.
• Review contractor programmes, monitor performance and identify project risks and mitigation measures.
• Ensure compliance with CDM Regulations, Building Regulations, Planning requirements and the Building Safety Act 2022.
• Chair project, contractor and design team meetings, driving progress and resolving technical issues.
• Prepare reports and provide expert technical advice to Project Managers and senior stakeholders.
• Maintain project documentation and ensure robust audit trails are in place throughout project delivery.

About You
