MMP Consultancy is currently recruiting for an experienced Building Surveyor to join a high-performing Property Projects team responsible for delivering a diverse programme of capital investment, refurbishment, remodelling and improvement projects across a large public sector property portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the technical delivery of construction, refurbishment and asset improvement projects.
- Produce designs, specifications, schedules of work and tender documentation.
- Lead procurement exercises and administer construction contracts throughout the project lifecycle.
- Act as technical lead and Employer's Agent, managing consultants, contractors and design teams.
- Carry out site inspections, monitor quality, progress and compliance with project requirements.
- Manage contract administration activities including variations, extension of time assessments, practical completion and defects management.
- Review contractor programmes, monitor performance and identify project risks and mitigation measures.
- Ensure compliance with CDM Regulations, Building Regulations, Planning requirements and the Building Safety Act 2022.
- Chair project, contractor and design team meetings, driving progress and resolving technical issues.
- Prepare reports and provide expert technical advice to Project Managers and senior stakeholders.
- Maintain project documentation and ensure robust audit trails are in place throughout project delivery.
About You
- Experience delivering construction, refurbishment, remodelling or capital works projects.
- Strong technical Building Surveying knowledge and contract administration experience.
- Working knowledge of JCT contracts and public sector procurement processes.
- Experience managing contractors, consultants and multi-disciplinary project teams.
- Sound understanding of CDM Regulations, Health & Safety legislation and Building Regulations.
- Knowledge of the Building Safety Act 2022 and wider compliance requirements.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities effectively.
