Job summary

Marks Consulting Partners is recruiting a Building Surveyor to join the Asset Management team. The role is mobile across South London, with a 35-hour week and nine-day fortnight schedule.

You will provide surveying expertise, support capital investment and maintenance services, and travel across the covered area to fulfill duties. You will manage contracts, prepare tender documents, monitor budgets, supervise contractors, and ensure safety and legal compliance within a dynamic housing sector

Qualifications

• The essential requirements for the role include a degree or relevant experience in construction.
• Significant surveying experience in housing associations, private practice, local authority, or similar.
• Full contract administration responsibilities including tender docs, cost analysis, budget control, site management, contractor supervision, QC and certification.
• Strong understanding of health and safety legislation, CDM, and other building statutory obligations.
• Knowledge of Building Safety and Compliance best practices and statutory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional surveying and technical support for Asset Management delivery.
• Support capital investment, cyclical, fire safety and statutory maintenance services within budget and time constraints.
• Take on contract administration for a range of major works projects including tendering, cost control and certification.
• Supervise contractors and ensure quality control and compliance with statutory requirements.

Hours: Full time - 35 hours per week/ 70 hours over two weeks (nine-day fortnight)

Location: This is a mobile role covering South London

The role:

We are currently looking to recruit a Building Surveyor to join our Asset Management team.

Within the role of Building Surveyor you will provide professional surveying and technical support, contributing to the smooth and efficient delivery of the Asset Management strategy.

You will work independently in supporting the delivering technical service function which provides effective capital investment, cyclical, fire safety and statutory maintenance services, to time and budget, in line with legislation, policy, capital programme and strategic objectives.

This is a mobile role where frequent travel across the area you cover will be required in order to fulfil the requirements of the role.

What we’re looking for

The essential requirements for the role include:

• Degree in a construction related discipline or relevant experience
• Significant demonstrable experience in a surveying role in a housing association, private practice, local authority, or similar.
• Full contract administration responsibilities of a range of technical and complex major works projects; including preparing tender documentation, cost analysis and budgetary control, site management, supervising contractors, quality control and certification
• Robust understanding of current health and safety legislation, CDM (including Principal Designer experience) and comprehensive knowledge of other building related statutory obligations
• Robust knowledge and experience of Building Safety and Compliance good practice and statutory requirements
