Baily Garner LLP is hiring a Building Surveyor in Eltham with project team leadership responsibilities. The role involves site visits, feasibility reporting, measured surveys, design proposal development, and contract administration across diverse non-residential and refurbishment projects.

Qualifications

• RICS accredited degree required or on route to APC.
• Experience with contract administration on diverse building types.
• Ability to manage client relationships and lead project teams.

Responsibilities

• Visit site and carry out inspections reports.
• Prepare and present initial appraisal and feasibility reports.
• Carry out measured surveys of existing buildings or sites.
• Prepare and present outline design proposals and budget estimates.
• Prepare full working drawings for construction.
• Submit statutory approvals including Planning and Building Control.
• Prepare specifications and schedules of work; invite tenders and analyse results.
• Prepare contract documents and perform contract administration duties.
• Act as Project Team Leader with client liaison and presentation of schemes.

Building Surveyor, Eltham

Salary: £50,000-£60,000

Join our Eltham, London team as a Building Surveyor with Project Team Leadership responsibility. You will have the opportunity to work on diverse projects across Non-residential, Refurbishment, Blue Light and Local Authority Commercial and Corporate Buildings, with flexibility of hybrid working.

Role Information:

Act as the Contract Administrator or Employer's Agent on a wide range of building types, utilising all standard forms of construction and assuming full responsibility for the following:

• Visit site and carry out and issue inspections reports.
• Prepare and present initial appraisal and feasibility reports.
• Carry out measured surveys of existing buildings or sites.
• Prepare and present outline design proposals, including preparation of budget estimate costs.
• Prepare and present for approval complete scheme designs.
• Prepare full working drawings sufficient for the construction of the project.
• Submit applications for statutory approvals, including Planning, Listed Building Consent and Building Control Approval.
• Prepare specifications and schedules of work
• Invite tenders for the main contract, carry out tender analysis and prepare tender reports.
• Prepare contract documents.
• Undertaking Contract Administration duties in accordance with Practice procedures and verification strategies.
• Delegating any of the above duties whilst retaining responsibility for achievement.
• Project Team Leader with Client liaison to include presentation of schemes, project programming and other matters affecting delivery of service.

Essential skills/qualifications

• Strong leadership skills
• Strong organisational skills
• Contract administration experience
• Confident working with challenging client and contractors relationships
• On route to sitting APC
• RICS accredited Bachelors degree
• Familiar with JCT contract forms and implementation of these contracts

Skills/qualifications desired but not essential

• Proficient on MS office package including Word, Power Point, Excel and Microsoft Project
• Experience with NBS Chorus and AutoCAD
